We consider ourselves a part of local life and there’s nothing we enjoy more than giving back to charities and organisations within the community.
Our team at Budgens of Holt is dedicated to fundraising, spending their time baking, crafting, and rambling to raise much needed funds for our local, nominated charities. Follow our fundraising activities on social media to see what the team are up to this month. Our 2024 Charity of the Year is Bowel Cancer UK.

To celebrate the rebuild of Budgens of Holt in November 2021, the CT Baker Group launched a community art mural project to brighten up the area surrounding the construction site at Kerridge Way. We invited many local artists, schools and organisations to express their interpretation of the question “What makes Holt special to you?” decorating the area with local scenery and landmarks.
Emma Blount
Emma, a Hunworth based artist, went to school in Holt. She says “The enormous lion and supermarket worker are protecting Holt while the building and community are both being rebuilt, stronger and better following all the devastations of 2020”.
Greshams Prep School
Gresham School was founded in Holt in 1555. Sophie, Head of Art at the Prep School, orchestrated this colourful, pop-art piece with her students. The abstract Grasshoppers represent a modern twist on the school’s emblem.
Holt Owl Playgroup
Missy and the team at Holt Playschool have captured the scenic view from their school in this eye-catching mural. They’ve also included plenty of iconic Holt landmarks for you to spot!
Holt Primary School
The children at Holt Primary School couldn’t wait to get creative! Headed by Sam and Eleanor they’ve adorned their tree with all their favourite things and are excited for their creation to be on show.
Holt Youth Project
Thank you to Tyler from Holt Youth Project for this bright and bold piece of artwork, portraying a meaningful outlook.
The Treehouse Cafe
The team at the Treehouse have painted their community cafe and gardens which have transformed from ‘an empty field to a colourful oasis of beauty’ since they moved in on Charles Road.
Weybourne Coastal Art Group
The Coastal Art Group has been running for 15 years. Although its regular members normally express varied styles, Susan says the group was thrilled to work together on this project capturing the idyllic Poppy Line in action.
Wild By Nature
Davina, one of the group leaders at Holt’s forest school, says “We were inspired by Nature itself. Our tree in the middle represents the changing seasons and the nature within all of us – we are always changing and growing just as nature is.”
Qu'elle Art
We are famous for our Georgian buildings here in Holt, and a group effort from High Kelling group Qu’elle Art has celebrated the town’s iconic architecture in this impressive mural measuring over 4.5m long, which can be seen from the Norwich Road!
